Goldsborough Hall, a four hundred year old Jacobean mansion house, is the former residence of a royal princess (HRH Princess Mary) and now offers six huge private suites to the public. The mansion is set in beautiful landscaped grounds, which themselves are enclosed by many acres of parkland, which allows total seclusion and quietude. Ashmount Country House, meanwhile, is set near Haworth in the heart of Bronte country. Here you’ll find outdoor hot tubs that can be enjoyed even in the cooler months of spring and autumn, private patios and spa areas, as well as some suites with their own private sauna cabin. The Wood View Guest House, for example, is a Grade 2 listed building near the tiny village of Austwick which offers great access to the surrounding countryside for walks and cycling. It has also been beautifully preserved with original wooden ceiling beams and open fires. The Pickersgill Manor Farm B&B is situated on a real working farm, which can provide hours of amusement for young children. The food here is wonderful, being made from the freshest of local ingredients, and again the countryside location makes this B&B perfect for outdoor pursuits such as rambling over the moors or mountain biking.
Another farm offering B&B facilities is Westfields Farm near Leyburn. The breakfast here has won two awards, from Deliciouslyyorkshire and Enjoy England, and is again made from delicious, fresh, seasonal produce. Leyburn itself is a bustling market town that comes with plenty of interesting little boutique shops and some quaint English pubs to spend your afternoon investigating. Here you can choose to make use of the meals on offer, but you can also choose a more private experience in the next door barn which comes with more facilities than the main house itself, allowing guests to cook their own food.
